This technology involves three main steps:
1) Clean off rim to bare metal.
2) Electrostatic charge and coat the rim.
3) Cure parts in a 400 degree infrared oven to fuse the powder.
A complete set of new equipment for running 80 to 90 rims per shift is cost effective at about the price of a loaded Humm-V. The Powder itself is inexpensive (around $1.50), but amazingly good looking and very durable. Profitability with just one operator is certainly assured by today's demand for reconditioning before mounting new rubber.

Environmentally friendly, POWDER COATING does not use solvents, no chemicals are released into the air, thus EPA regulations do not add expense to this process. Reduced waste disposal costs and low occupational exposures are added benefits.

Extremely abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistant: powder coating provides a finish which is superior to other paints and looks great with little or no maintenance save for soap and water. With hundreds of stock colors to choose from and our rapid color change applicator guns, you can match almost any color scheme or customer request. Our own RimTek Kustom Powder is available for all customer specifications.
